Our 2018 award winners!

Jason Taumalolo has enjoyed a record-breaking night at the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys 24th Annual Presentation Ball at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre this evening.

The 25-year-old became the first player in club history to claim the Paul Bowman Medal for Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons after previously claiming the gong in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Taumalolo finished on 23 votes, six clear of winger Kyle Feldt and eight clear of retiring co-captain Johnathan Thurston.

The Cowboys lock also became the first Cowboy to win three Players' Player awards, breaking a six-way tie with previous two-time winners John Lomax (97-98), Matt Sing (02-03), Luke O'Donnell (06-09), Matt Scott (10-13) and Thurston (11-14).

Capping off a sensational final season in the NRL, Thurston claimed both the Club Person of the Year award and the Townsville Bulletin Fans' Choice award.

Thurston, who played every minute of every game for the first time in his glittering 17-year career, led the NRL in both try assists (22) and line break assists (24).

Boom youngster Jake Clifford also capped off a memorable season by snaring the Rookie of the Year title after a brilliant six-game stint in the top grade.

His Cowboys award followed on from the Queensland Cup Rookie of the Year gong and a man of the match award in the Queensland under 20s State of Origin victory over NSW.

High-flying winger Kyle Feldt was rewarded for his tremendous 2018 season with the Coach's Award by Cowboys head coach Paul Green.

Feldt led the Cowboys with 14 tries and finished with 3100 running metres for the season, which ranked fourth among all wingers in the competition.
