The Brisbane Broncos have signed Anthony Seibold as coach on a four-year deal beginning in 2020.
He will take over from coaching great Wayne Bennett, who will take Seibold's place at South Sydney.
Wednesday's announcement included club plans for Bennett to see out the final year of his contract.
Broncos chairman Karl Morris said Seibold was the pick of the men interviewed for the post.
"Anthony was a stand-out. His football knowledge is exceptional, as is his thinking and process around people management," Morris said.
"He also has a strong commitment that will add to the commercial and community aspects of our club, which is extremely important to the Brisbane Broncos."
Broncos CEO Paul White echoed Morris's views: "We have done a thorough due diligence and as a result we have got the best person for the job in Anthony.
"Our job is to look after the long-term future of this club and that is what we have done through Anthony's appointment."
Seibold won the Dally M Coach Of The Year award in 2018, while Bennett has won seven premierships during an illustrious coaching career.
