The 2019 Telstra Premiership pre-season has kicked off with the revamped All Stars match signalling two full weeks of NRL trials leading into the March 14 season start.
The Indigenous All Stars enjoyed a commanding 34-14 win over the NZ Maori All Stars at AAMI Park.
The Raiders then claimed a come-from-behind 22-20 win over the Eels, on the same weekend premiers Sydney Roosters are in the UK for the World Club Challenge against Wigan on Sunday, February 17.
Some clubs also play Jersey Flegg and/or ISP trials that weekend or earlier, while most clubs have at least two senior trials with most taking place on Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 2.
The Manly Sea Eagles and Cronulla Sharks trial initially scheduled at Lottoland on February 23, will now be moved to Southern Cross Group Stadium.
Regional and rural venues get a share of pre-season games with Gosford, Maitland, Mackay, Geelong and Whangarei hosting trials.
