The four golden-point results in six rounds in 2019 equals the most at the same point of the season since the format was introduced in 2003.

Only once before, in 2008, has there been as many as four extra-time contests through the opening six rounds.

The three golden-point games in round four represents just the second time there have been three such instances in one round of the Telstra Premiership and, coupled with last Friday's cliffhanger won by the Roosters in Melbourne, it means there have been four extra-time games after six rounds this year.

The most golden point games in one year was the 16 in 2016 (which included one such result in the finals series after 15 in the regular season); that year there were three after six rounds.

While there is obviously no guarantee the current rate will be maintained though the year but if it does, 2019 would be on track to challenge the mark set in 2016.
