Round 13 charges: Hipgrave cops two-match suspension

Titans forward Keegan Hipgrave has accepted a two-week suspension after he was charged on Monday for an incident in the win over Brisbane.

Hipgrave was found to have committed a grade-one shoulder charge by the match review committee for an incident in the 29th minute of the Suncorp Stadium clash on Sunday.

He could have received a one-match ban if he submits an early guilty plea for the hit on Broncos rookie Thomas Flegler but has instead entered a plea of no contest, which will rule him out for two matches but leave him with zero carry-over points.

Warriors forward Chris Satae has copped a one-match ban for dangerous contact on Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr while Josh McGuire and Jorge Taufua have both been fined over incidents in Saturday's NRL games.

South Sydney prop Tom Burgess has been suspended for one match for striking while two others have been fined over the brawl that engulfed players from both the Rabbitohs and Knights in the shadow of half-time on Friday night at ANZ Stadium.

Burgess accepted the suspension after the Rabbitohs announced on their website over the weekend that he had scans on his ankle which revealed some floating cartilage. The injury will most likely require surgery and he is booked in to see a specialist on Tuesday.

His older brother Sam Burgess underwent surgery on Saturday morning for a clean-up of his shoulder. He will need about five weeks to recover.

Sam has been fined $1,350 for contrary conduct out of the Knights game, if he enters an early plea. If he doesn't the fine rises by $450.

Knights prop Daniel Saifiti was also fined for contrary conduct, but the lesser amount of $1,150 with an early plea.

The fourth player sin-binned, Knights back rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon, escaped any penalty.
