The Eels have confirmed veteran prop Tim Mannah will see out his 2019 contract at the club.

Mannah requested a release to join the Wests Tigers mid-season after being demoted to reserve grade and told he was unlikely to be in the club's plans beyond the current season.

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire had been eyeing the former Origin front-rower as an experienced leader to add to his squad's middle forward depth.

However, late talks between Mannah and the Eels have resulted in the Lebanon international staying put for 2019.

In a statement, the Eels said there will be discussions around Mannah's ongoing involvement after his retirement from football.

"We are delighted that Tim will play out the 2019 season here at the Eels," said Parramatta CEO Bernie Gurr

"Tim is in his 11th NRL season with the Eels and continues to be an outstanding contributor to our club.

Mannah said he was happy to be staying at the Eels.

"I am a Parramatta Eels junior and I love our club. My total commitment is to helping our club be successful. I appreciate the support from our wonderful members and fans," Mannah said in the club statement.
