The State of Origin decider is looking likely to be a sell-out at ANZ Stadium for Wednesday night's showdown between the Blues and Maroons.

Tickets sales have been strong for the match and the NRL is urging fans considering going to the game to get in quick to avoid missing out.

The Blues will make history when they become the first team to make the walk underground from the NSWRL Centre of Excellence out onto the ANZ Stadium pitch for the Holden State of Origin series decider.

No athlete has used the tunnel in almost two decades, with gold medallist Cathy Freeman among the stars to use the tunnel during the 2000 Olympics.

With ticket sales strong for the anticipated sell-out, there are only around 1000 spots left in the Blatchys Blues supporter bay - a select number of Blatchys invited to form a guard of honour as the NSW players make their way from the tunnel to the turf.
