1936

Rugged Australian front-rower Ray Stehr earns a place in the history books when he is sent off for the second time in the Ashes series against England. Stehr receives his marching orders from referee Lal Deane in the first Test, won 24-8 by Australia, and again by Deane in the Ashes-deciding third Test, won 12-7 by England.

1962

The mighty St George side suffer a rare humiliation when beaten 33-5 by the touring British side at the Sydney Cricket Ground, watched by a midweek crowd of 57,895.

1999

Manly down Norths 28-22 at North Sydney Oval in the final clash between the two clubs. On the same day Parramatta record the biggest win in the club’s history when they thrash Western Suburbs 68-10 at Campbelltown.

2003

St George Illawarra lose State of Origin front-rower Jason Ryles for the rest of the season after scans confirm he requires a shoulder reconstruction.

2011

Dragons centre Mark Gasnier plays his final game at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah as St George Illawarra crush neighbours Cronulla 38-8 to complete the NRL’s Rivalry Round.

2015

Cronulla winger Valentine Holmes seals a golden point victory for the Sharks in skipper Paul Gallen’s 250th first-grade game with a dramatic field goal against Canberra at GIO Stadium. The Sharks survived a controversial no try ruling against prop Andrew Fifita before the game was decided in extra-time.
