Trent Hodkinson, one of the NRL’s most respected players, has been forced to bring down the curtain down on his career due to injuries.
The Sea Eagles halfback made his first-grade debut for Manly in 2010 and has played 174 games in the NRL, which also included stints at Canterbury (2011-15), Newcastle (2016-17) and Cronulla (2018).
On the representative front, he played six games for NSW in 2014-15, and for City in 2010. His shining moment on the rep stage was scoring the match-winning try for the Blues in 2014 which helped the state break Queensland's stranglehold on the State of Origin trophy.
Off the field, Hodkinson is highly regarded for his outstanding work in the community.
"Unfortunately due to a new injury sustained earlier this year, numerous medical procedures and intensive rehabilitation, I have been forced to give up the game that I love and will be medically retiring from rugby league,’" Hodkinson said.
