1994

Rod Wishart kicks 12 goals in a 28-point haul as Australia demolish Sheffield 80-2 in an international tour match in England. Andrew Ettingahausen scores three tries for Australia.

1998

Wests officials call for an extraordinary general meeting to discuss whether the club should continue to hold joint venture negotiations with Canterbury. The club would eventually merge with the Wests Tigers ahead of the 2000 season.

2000 

Australian Rugby Union boss John O'Neill reveals the 15-man-a-side game is formulating plans for a raid on rugby league talent, with Brisbane Broncos players Gorden Tallis, Darren Lockyer and Wendell Sailor at the top of their list.

2013  

England force Australia to fight hard for a 28-20 victory in the World Cup opener at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. England prop Sam Burgess is handed a one-game suspension for a high tackle on Australia second-rower Sam Thaiday. Greg Bird and Darius Boyd were among the tryscorers for Australia.

2014 

The Newtown Jets mourn the passing of former Kangaroo centre Brian "Chicka" Moore at the age of 70. Moore was the last coach of the Jets before they were eliminated from the NSWRL premiership in 1983.

2018 

The Warriors drop a bombshell by informing star halfback Shaun Johnson he is free to test offers on the open market. He would later join the Cronulla Sharks.

2020

Halfback Kyle Flanagan signs a three-year deal to join Canterbury after he receives an official release from the final year of his contract with the Sydney Roosters.
