1990

As cold weather gripped the visiting Australian side in a Test match played in Avignon, Greg Alexander scored 26 points as the Kangaroos scored a 60-4 win over France.

1999

English magazine Rugby League World names Andrew Johns as the first recipient in a decade of the Golden Boot award which honours the best player in the world.

2002

Allan Langer announces his retirement from the game. In a stellar career, Langer played 24 Tests, 34 State of Origin matches for Queensland and spent 13 years at the Brisbane Broncos. He was admitted to the NRL Hall of Fame in 2008.

2003

Stuart Raper is appointed coach of Cronulla for 2004 and 2005 following the sacking of Chris Anderson.

2012

Tim Sheens is reappointed as Australia's coach through to the end of the 2013 World Cup. Australia would beat New Zealand 34-2 in the final.

2017

Veteran Jillaroos Renae Kunst and Stephanie Hancock achieve a fairytale farewell with a 23-16 World Cup victory over the Kiwi Ferns at Suncorp Stadium. Isabelle Kelly scores two tries for Australia.

2017

Australia claim a 6-0 victory over England in the World Cup final after second-rower Boyd Cordner scores the only try of the game in the 15th minute. Halfback Cooper Cronk announces his retirement from representative football after the game.
