In a daily series analysing who will line up in each position for all 16 teams in the opening round of the Telstra Premiership in 2020, NRL.com looks at the Brisbane Broncos.

NRL.com says: A question mark hangs over the playing future of veteran Darius Boyd, with the early indications being he could start 2020 on the wing with Jamayne Isaako moved to fullback and Jack Bird partnering Kotoni Staggs in the centres.

Another veteran in Andrew McCullough also faces a challenge for his spot, with young gun Jake Turpin firming for a start at hooker which would likely relegate McCullough to Intrust Super Cup duties.

There aren't enough spots in the starting pack for all Brisbane's young gun forwards, with Joe Ofahengaue likely to start the year as a bench weapon behind Tevita Pangai jnr at lock. Coach Anthony Seibold is a fan of up-and-coming playmaker Corey Paix, who is firming for the bench utility role.

Jamie Soward says: I'd move Darius Boyd to centre, bring Xavier Coates in on the wing and play Jack Bird off the bench. You want two big, tall guys to kick to on the wings – particularly given the rule changes – and Bird can come on and roam around the middle.
