Eels winger Maika Sivo has been successful in having his bail conditions changed in Fiji and will be able to return to Australia to resume pre-season training on Monday.
Sivo has been detained in his homeland for the past week after he was charged with indecent assault following an incident involving a staff member of a resort near Nadi.
Parramatta released a statement on Friday to say "following a number of commitments made by Maika and the Parramatta Eels club to the Fijian court", Sivo has been given permission to travel to Australia while his case progresses through the legal system.
Eels general member of football Mark O’Neill, and a member of the club's welfare team, travelled to Fiji to meet with the local legal team and provide support to Sivo and his family.
"Maika and the club are pleased with the outcome of today’s proceedings and reiterate our respect for the Fijian legal system and its processes. Maika will return to Australia with our Eels staff and be ready for the commencement of Eels training next week," according to the Parramatta statement.
Sivo faced court in Fiji on Monday and had been granted bail but was told he would not allowed to return to Australia until his next court appearance.
The 26-year-old Fijian international starred for Parramatta in his rookie season in the NRL in 2019, leading the competition for tries scores to win the Ken Irvine Medal.
