1984

Australia, NSW, Manly and South Sydney forward Glenn Stewart is born. After playing 203 NRL games Stewart spent one season each with Super League clubs Catalans and Leigh before spending a year with his junior club Western Suburbs Red Devils in the Illawarra competition.

1998

The Melbourne Storm confirm they have signed Hunter Mariners players Brett Kimmorley, Scott Hill, John Carlaw and Paul Marquet in a deal worth $3 million.

2001

Papua New Guinea and Queensland captain Adrian Lam signs a two-year contract with English club Wigan.

2010

Former Test centre Gordon Willoughby, who played for Manly in their inaugural premiership season of 1947, dies in Sydney, aged 80.

2013

Test forward Greg Bird agrees to remain with the Gold Coast Titans until the end of the 2017 season.

2016

St George's 1979 grand final-winning fullback Brian Johnson dies in Wollongong, aged 59, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

2017

Parramatta winger Semi Radradra confirms he will leave the NRL at the end of the 2017 season to take up a $1 million-a-season contract with French rugby club Toulon.
