Cronulla hooker Blayke Brailey

Cronulla have unearthed a crop of new young talent and that means potential bargain buys for your Fantasy squad.

The days of the Sharks having one of the oldest rosters in the league are on the way out.

As we count down to the start of the 2020 NRL Fantasy season, we reveal the starting player prices and preview the key players from all 16 NRL clubs.

Blayke Brailey

Hooker, $400,000

These days the Sharks are blessed with exciting young talent – and in Fantasy circles they don't get much more promising than 21-year-old No.9 Brailey.

Blayke played behind big brother Jayden in 2019, averaging 18.1 points per game off the bench, but has been given the No.9 jersey and a nice new contract after Jayden's exit to Newcastle.

He played the full 80 minutes just once last season (scoring 40) but should make a habit of it in 2020, and he could easily push his average into the mid-40s after scoring 38 in 56 minutes and 43 in 58 minutes in his other significant appearances.

His price has been bumped up a little so he'll start the new year with a break even of 27, but if he matches Jayden's mark of 41 points a game he'd make some big price rises in Fantasy – making him a top cash cow option at the start of the season.

Jack Williams

Second-rower, $472,000

Williams has been touted as "the next Paul Gallen" for some time and the 23-year-old back-rower could take Gallen's lock role at Cronulla this season. Williams averaged 32.4 points from 38 minutes per game in 2019, and is the kind of all-action middle forward who could thrive in Fantasy if given quality game time. Gallen played 49 minutes a game last season so if Williams takes the same role and maintains his scoring rate his Fantasy average would jump to 42.

Braden Hamlin-Uele

Front-rower, $561,000

One of Cronulla's breakout stars in 2019, Hamlin-Uele added plenty of impact off the bench up front for the Sharks and scored slightly better than a point per minute in Fantasy. So the key for his Fantasy prospects is more game time. He played 36 minutes a game last season and could get more time in the middle with veteran forwards Paul Gallen and Matt Prior having left the club. Hamlin-Uele was already getting more game time than Fantasy star Andrew Fifita at the end of last season so the path is there for him to get a few more 50-minute matches in 2020.
