The signing of a new hooker and the departure of James Maloney will have major NRL Fantasy ramifications for Penrith players in 2020.

We're previewing the notable NRL Fantasy buys and revealing all player prices for each club as the days tick down towards the start of the new season.

Nathan Cleary

Half, $785,000

An immediate success story in Fantasy, Cleary's combination of goal-kicking, a strong general kicking game, sound defence and a willingness to run the ball have made him a consistent 50+ scorer who is capable of cracking the 120 mark on his day.

He scored an excellent 55 points a game last year when playing alongside another dominant playmaker in James Maloney and could step up another gear alongside a less dominant player like Jarome Luai. Cleary scored 66 in his one game alongside Luai with a season-high 477 kick metres.

Apisai Koroisau

Hooker, $493,000

A change of club should result in a big boost to Api Koroisau's Fantasy scoring in 2020. After sharing the hooking duties at Manly last season with Manase Fainu, Koroisau is set to be Penrith's first-choice No.9 and should get back to the 80-minute role that saw him score 48.5 points a game in 2018.

Last year he played just 44 minutes a game, averaging 31.9 Fantasy points – or just under 58 points per 80 minutes. An average score in the mid-40s would make Koroisau a quality cash cow, anything above 50 would make him a must-have at his price.

Jarome Luai

Half, $249,000

Another player who could be a big winner from a role change this season. James Maloney's departure creates an opening at five-eighth and Luai is the early front-runner.

He won't be a huge scorer with Nathan Cleary the team's primary playmaker but he's so cheap that even scores in the 30s would make him great value for money.

Last season he averaged 33 points in three 80-minute games, including a 58 (including two try assists), but in his other 10 matches he averaged 13 points in 30 minutes as a bench player.

A break even of around 18 means he's almost certain to rise in value if he gets the No.6 jersey this year.
