Broncos forward Joe Ofahengaue.

An "extremely remorseful" Broncos forward Joe Ofahengaue has been fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for three months after pleading guilty to a traffic offence.

The 24-year-old appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday after being charged with being in control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol last month.

Ofahengaue had no conviction recorded against him and the Broncos subsequently put out a statement.

"The club informed the NRL Integrity Unit when the incident occurred, and now that the case has been dealt with in court, the unit will complete its investigation," the statement said.

"The Broncos will wait for the Integrity Unit to hand down its findings before commenting further."
