Chanel Harris-Tavita threw self-preservation out the window when he launched himself at Panther Liam Martin and his fearless approach has been rewarded with Youi Tackle of the Week honours.

The Warriors playmaker came flying out of the line and got a great shot on the much bigger Panther and a whopping 60 per cent of fans loved it so much they gave it top billing over the efforts by Matt Ikuvalu, AJ Brimson and Tevita Funa.

With dual international Sonny Bill Williams out of quarantine to begin preparations for his return at the Roosters, the NRL players seemed to have channelled his ferocity with some of their hits in round 14 and there were plenty of worthy contenders.

What is the Youi Tackle of the Week?

With such a banquet of rugby league action on offer every single week, it’s only fitting that fans should get to have a say on who they think delivers when it comes to the big hits and tough defensive plays, across the 2020 season.

The Youi Tackle of the Week has the experts at NRL.com scouring the footage from each game of the round to offer up 4 nominations for you, the fans, to vote on.

What do you value more, a mid-field bone rattler or a last ditch effort try saver?

Get Caught Up: Round 14

Is an epic hit to end a line break sprint better than a copybook tackle within inches of the line?

Don’t keep those thoughts to yourself. Now is your chance to make your opinion known.

At the conclusion of the round the wining nomination will be named the Youi Tackle of the Week and the results of the week’s vote will be published on NRL.com on Tuesday afternoon.

At the end of the season, the NRL.com experts will cast their eyes over the winning tackle from each round and, through careful analysis, will declare one to be the Youi Tackle of the Year for season 2020.

The winner will be presented with the Youi Tackle of the Year award at the 2020 Dally Ms where they will receive the official trophy, but more importantly, the acknowledgment from the fans.
