The Reynolds family.

Adam Reynolds has won an NRL premiership, played State of Origin for NSW and is the proud captain of the Rabbitohs.

Now the Souths halfback can add 2020 Sports Dad of the Year to his impressive list of achievements.

While the restrictions of life in a "bubble" due to the NRL's strict COVID-19 bio-security restrictions has been difficult for players this season, Reynolds said he had enjoyed spending more time with wife Tallara and their four children.

"Being in a 'bubble' has made it very challenging at times," Reynolds said. "We haven't been able to get out and about as a family as we normally would. I guess I've learnt a lot more about them as we've seen a lot of each other this year.

"Getting away from football and freshening up the mind can be the best thing for you at times."

"Today I will be in lockdown so just some family time at home, playing games in the back yard and a family movie in the afternoon," he said.

Reynolds, who became just the seventh Rabbitohs player to achieve the 200-game milestone in Friday night's 22-16 loss to Melbourne, polled more than 20 per cent of the vote to win the Phillips Sports Dad of the Year award.

Other nominations included Sydney Roosters centre Josh Morris, who played his 300th NRL match on Saturday night, Parramatta's Michael Jennings and Penrith captain James Tamou, NBA star Matthew Dellavedova, AFL stars Trent Cotchin, Tom Hawkins and Mitch Robinson, Supercars favourite Fabian Coulthard and Wallaby half Nic White.

"I'd like to thank everyone who supported me and all the other dads. It’s a great honour to be named the Philips Sports Dad of the Year," Reynolds said.

"My family means the world to me – Tallara and all my beautiful kids."

The 30-year-old will donate his $5000 prizemoney for the award to Save our Sons, the organisation fighting every day for a cure to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

"They are a foundation that works extremely hard," Reynolds said. "It’s a great cause and hopefully we can find a cure soon."

Tallara said Reynolds was a "hands-on" dad.

"He loves spending time with them playing sports. He is also great with helping out school art tasks. He has a secret passion for art," she said.

"Adam is a big kid. He has a massive sweet tooth, he loves all different kinds of sport and watching documentaries.  He also collects NBA cards as his hobby."
