Five ways for fans to show true colours

With the 2020 NRL finals series in full swing, now is the time to show your support for your favourite team as they chase that elusive premiership.

And when it comes to outward displays of support, NRL fans are renowned for displaying their team colours in any way they can.

Thanks to the NRL supporter range available now at Best & Less, NRL.com has come up with five ways we think NRL fans love to show their support for their team.

Make a sign

You’re at the game and you are pretty sure that the players can hear your screams of encouragement, but how can you make sure your sentiments are heard above the din? Make a sign and display it proudly. A clever play on words or a simple three-letter acrostic, NRL fans will wave their banners proudly, rain or shine.

Paint your face

“Gotta support the team” – NRL fans are renowned for wearing their hearts on their sleeves, but sometimes that’s too subtle, and you need to wear it on your face, too. Whether it’s a restrained strip of colour on the cheeks or a full face masterpiece, the face painter is an oft maligned fan but one that certainly gets the tick of approval when it comes to enthusiasm.

Wear a mask

Want to go the whole hog but lack the tools or artistic skills necessary? The answer is simple, wear a mask and let the compliments roll in. Of course, your dedication to the mask will likely result in you missing most of the game due to the tiny eye holes and you’ll also get a good dose of ‘recycled’ air which can make your match day experience uncomfortable, but those are small sacrifices to make in order to cheer on your team in style.

Dress your kids

Bringing your family to the game gives the NRL fan parent a great opportunity to show others how much they love their team by dressing their little ones up in team gear. From baby-sized onesies to kids sized cap, T-shirts and shorts, the NRL fan parent can ensure that their child is appropriately dressed at all life stages and will be able to leave nothing to chance when it comes to the team their child eventually chooses to support.

Wear your team to bed

You’ve been through the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with being an NRL fan all season but when the games are done for another year you can show your support in the off-season by wearing official team pyjamas to bed. There's always next year!
