Coates' acrobatic effort voted Try of Origin
The fans have spoken and rookie Maroons winger Xavier Coates has been chosen to have scored the best try of the 2020 Ampol State of Origin series.
Such was Coates' impact over the two matches he played, he also finished third with another effort that made the shortlist for the Drinkwise Try of Origin competition.
It was his leaping effort on an otherwise forgettable night for Queensland at ANZ Stadium in game two that won over voters.
While tries from Coates finshed first and third, a game one try from AJ Brimson at Adelaide Oval was voted the second best try of Origin.
Blues five-eighth Cody Walker and Maroons utility Valentine Holmes were the other nominees.
