In a series analysing who will line up in each position for all 16 teams in the opening round of the Telstra Premiership in 2021, NRL.com looks at the Cronulla Sharks.

NRL.com says: Coach John Morris has indicated Matt Moylan is likely to play in the halves while Shaun Johnson recovers from an Achilles injury, although Connor Tracey and Braydon Trindall are also options.

In addition to Johnson, Royce Hunt (knee) will miss the first part of the season while Siosifa Talakai (shoulder) is also unlikely for round one. Blayke Brailey (ankle) and Moylan (hamstring) should be available.

Jamie Soward says: Will Kennedy needs to go to that next level if they're going to start the season fast.

If Moylan is fit enough to play NRL he should be fit enough to play fullback so I'd start him at the back with Connor Tracey in the halves, or even Trindall with Tracey to do a role off the bench.

I don't know if a Fifita-Tolman-Williams bench is going to get the job done, I'd like to see something more dynamic with a bit more foot speed. Hopefully Talakai is fit to take one of those spots, if not I'd be looking at someone like Billy Magoulias.
