Raiders prop Josh Papalii.

Canberra boast a fearsome and mobile forward pack featuring Josh Papalii, Elliott Whitehead and Joe Tapine.

And their backline includes workhorse fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad - so it's surprising to note the Raiders were the only top-eight team in 2020 to concede more metres on average than they gained.

Across the 20-round regular season, Canberra had a metres differential of -9.9 (eighth in NRL) having averaged a gain of 1668m per match (9th) and conceding 1678m (8th).

While the skilfull pack's collective attributes go beyond simply bashing and barging upfield, the numbers suggest Papalii needs more assistance in the yardage department.

The Queensland prop (151m, 19 games) was the only Canberra forward to average more than 150m in the regular season, with Tapine (124m, 18 game) and Ryan Sutton (112m, 16 games) next.

Emre Guler (106m, 8 games) and Corey Horsburgh (106m, 6) also averaged triple figures but injury shortened their campaigns.

Nicoll-Klokstad averaged 180 metres per match (18 games) in shouldering a heavy load coming out of trouble.

Wingers Jordan Rapana (130m, 16 games), the departed Nick Cotric (110m, 20 games) and five-eighth Jack Wighton (103m, 19 games) were the handful of regular backs to average more than 100 metres prior to the playoffs.
