Eels halfback Mitchell Moses.

Parramatta produced some of the best Fantasy scorers in the league last season and will be a crucial club for Fantasy coaches again this year.

With a couple of standout scorers in their positions and one cut-price gun looking good value for money, all coaches should take a close look at Brad Arthur's team.

Players to watch

Mitchell Moses

Moses was the third-highest scorer among all halves in Fantasy last year, with 57 points per game (only Nathan Cleary and Daly Cherry-Evans fared better).

A goal-kicking playmaker who gets plenty of try assists and makes more than 400 kick metres per game, Moses has also improved his defence in the past few years with his missed tackles decreasing last year despite the speed of the game ramping up.

He's a cheaper option than Cleary and Cherry-Evans and will almost certainly be a gun scorer once more in 2021.

Ryan Matterson

One of the breakout Fantasy stars of 2020, Matterson scored 60 points per game in his first year at the Eels with 40 tackles and 125 metres per game plus a steady stream of tackle breaks and offloads.

That doesn't leave much room for improvement and he's hardly cheap at $807,000, but he ranked second among genuine second-rowers in Fantasy last year (behind Angus Crichton) and is every chance of being the most valuable player in the game's new "edge forward" position this season.

Mahoney sends Matterson over

Nathan Brown

Already a busy middle forward who racked up big numbers in run metres and tackles before the introduction of the six-again rule last season – which increased the value of pretty much all middle forwards in Fantasy – Brown actually started the season slowly by his standards before lifting.

Five of his first seven scores of the year were below 45, including two scores of 31, but from round 12 onwards he averaged 61 points a game and never scored less than 50. He'll start the year with a break even of 55 but remains a cut-price keeper option in the middle forward position.
