Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr.

The Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters, who combined have won the past four NRL premierships, go head-to-head in the marquee clash of round six at AAMI Park on Friday night.

The Storm, sitting an unaccustomed sixth on the ladder, roll into the heavyweight clash having beaten up on a couple of also-rans in Brisbane and Canterbury the past two rounds while the second-placed Roosters come off a stunning come-from-behind win over Cronulla.

Melbourne, who won both clashes in 2020, are at close to full strength while the Roosters are battling an injury crisis that has hit the club's hooking stocks particularly hard.

The other big clash of the weekend takes place in Canberra on Saturday night when the Raiders host the Eels, both last-start losers looking to bounce back and keep in touch with the competition front-runners.

At the other end of the table Canterbury's quest for their first win of the season heads to Townsville where they take on the Cowboys, who broke their 2021 duck last Sunday at Leichhardt Oval.
