Stat Attack: Cowboys flyer puts the 'Hammer' down

Cowboys jet Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow joined some elite Telstra Tracker company last week by becoming just the fourth player to crack 37km/h this season.

The centre still has a way to go to catch Josh Addo-Carr (38.1km/h), Jason Saab (38km/h) and Xavier Coates (37.6km/h), but Tabuai-Fidow's mark of 37.3km/h elevates among the game's quickest.

The 19-year-old flyer was a sight to behold in Friday's 29-28 victory over the Warriors when he glided 65 metres down the left touchline to help level the scores just five minutes before full-time.

It was Tabuai-Fidow's first match back after six weeks out following ankle surgery but coach Todd Payten wanted him to get more involved - no wonder given his blinding speed.

Manly winger Saab, whose hot wheels were on display when he strode away for yet another long-range try in Sunday's loss to Newcastle, ranked second in round 12 with a top of 35.1km/h.

Another North Queensland youngster - rookie forward Heilum Luki - showed surprising pace to reel in Warriors fullback Reece Walsh as he picked up a loose ball and shot clear for the try-line.

Walsh bounced over the stripe despite Luki's stirring long-range effort but the Cowboy clocked an impressive 34.1km/h to usurp Walsh's maximum velocity of 33.7km/h as well as Bradman Best's (33.4km/h).

Knights players were dominant across several Telstra Tracker categories. They filled the top five for total distance covered through Enari Tuala (10.10km), Connor Watson (10.07), Jayden Brailey (9.89), Brayden Musgrove (9.77) and Phoenix Crossland (9.76).

Newcastle's desperation to beat the Sea Eagles was also reflected in the high-speed metres (20km/h or more) category led by winger Musgrove (910h/sm) ahead of Brisbane's Jamayne Isaako (873).

Destructive Knights centre Best was back in fourth place (806h/sm).

And Newcastle prop Josh King was at the head for relative metres (metres-per-minute) with an average of 112 but he only played 14 minutes off the interchange in the 18-10 win.

Panthers half Nathan Cleary, who came third with 104 average metres-per-minute, was the highest-ranking 80-minute man.
