Maroons captain Ali Brigginshaw is set to take advantage of a unique loophole in the women's game to be available for the Broncos in round one of the NRL Telstra Women's Premiership.

Brigginshaw was at risk of missing Brisbane's season opener in August after being charged with a hair-pulling offence in last Friday night's women's State of Origin match.

The Jillaroos star was cited by the match review committee for a 35th-minute incident involving NSW forward Kennedy Cherrington.

It's understood Brigginshaw has taken the early guilty plea but is exploring the possibility of serving the one-match ban through a community club competition in south-east Queensland.

Brigginshaw's BHP Premiership club side Valleys has two feeder teams below them competing in the SEQW competition - Valleys Roosters and Aspley.

A QRL spokesperson confirmed Brigginshaw already had a permit in place in June to play in the SEQW competition following her Origin commitments.

"Brigginshaw will serve her suspension during round nine (July 3-4) and can return the following weekend," the spokesperson said.

Brigginshaw is the only player who has played every game during the first three years of the NRLW.

Due to the Broncos having played in, and won, the grand final in each of those years, she has 12 matches to her name.

The contrary conduct charge carried a 100-point base penalty but Brigginshaw had a 20% loading due to a prior non-similar offence.

Queensland's premier club competition, the BHP Premiership, wrapped up earlier this month, meaning Brigginshaw was at risk of serving the suspension in the NRLW.

Brigginshaw conceded to ABC Sport radio on Sunday she pulled Cherrington's hair as a retaliation.

"Yeah, I did it," Brigginshaw said.

"Me and Kennedy have a bit of a rivalry, so she drove the shoulder up through my jaw and I retaliated by giving her a face rub, it might've looked worse like a hair pull … hey, that's Origin footy."

Brigginshaw re-signed with the Broncos for a fourth campaign on Tuesday.
