He's unsigned next season, but veteran Sharks prop Aiden Tolman showed there's still miles left in his legs with a strong VB Hard Earned effort in Sunday's win over the Warriors.

A soggy Netstrata Jubilee Oval suited the 32-year-old warhorse, who thrived in an arm-wrestle to produce 39 tackles (one miss) and 20 runs (gaining eight-plus metres eight times) per VB data.

Always prioritising the one-percenters, Tolman also ran six decoys and six supports in an unflagging 75-minute performance.

Those statistics gave him a VB index score of 94 - with only Roosters front-rower Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (104) outdoing him.

Waerea-Hargreaves helped lift the Tricolours to victory over the Bulldogs, smashing out 21 runs - gaining eight or more metres a remarkable 18 times - as well as making 37 tackles (three misses).

Another Rooster, stand-in fullback Joey Manu, proved hard to bring down as he busted seven tackles and recorded an index score of 75 - well above the NRL average for the custodian's position of 45.6.

Canterbury's Josh Jackson did all he could to inspire his troops with the back-rower completing 54 tackles and 13 runs to finish with an index score of 88 in the 22-16 loss at Bankwest Stadium.

Meanwhile, Dylan Walker posted strong numbers as he deputised for Daly Cherry-Evans as Manly's halfback, finishing with an index score of 66 in Thursday's loss to the Raiders.

On the overall leaderboard, Eels second-rower Isaiah Papali'i still leads the way despite his team having a bye last week.

The three closest challengers - James Fisher-Harris, Alex Twal and Isaah Yeo - also didn't lace up the boots in round 17.
