The possibility of Canberra rake Josh Hodgson linking with Brisbane didn't bother Broncos hooker Jake Turpin.
In fact, Turpin reckons it was the first he had heard of it when told of reports of the club's initial interest in Hodgson after extending his Brisbane deal for another NRL season on Thursday.
The Broncos had been considering sniffing around for the Raiders veteran as part of their roster overhaul but new head of football Ben Ikin has abandoned any potential pursuit of the English international.
Turpin said he had been blissfully unaware but had no complaints, claiming last year's wooden spooners were back on track.
"I haven't heard much of it," he said when asked about Hodgson. "I am not a big media fan. I don't read many articles.

"If it happens it happens. I just let my footy take care of itself. I have nothing to complain about at the moment. I just think with the new signings we have coming next year and with some of the boys re-signing I feel the club is heading in the right direction."
Perhaps it is a good thing Turpin keeps his nose out of the rugby league news cycle.
There hasn't been much pleasant reading for the Broncos No.9 after the club's frustrating 2021 season start.

However, Turpin believed the future was bright under their new-look football department.
Ikin's arrival just weeks ago has kick started a string of re-signings and a recruitment coup, with Queensland star Kurt Capewell recently announcing he would join South Sydney playmaker Adam Reynolds at Red Hill next year.
"Benny has been good since he came in. He has not formally caught up with us one on one, just grabbed us here and there to have a little chat," said 24-year-old Turpin, who has played 39 games for the Broncos.
"He definitely has a presence about him. He is just good to have around. His door is always open. We all know he has a wealth of experience, he will help us along the way."
If all goes to plan Turpin will have another little chat with Ikin before the end of next year, saying his preference was securing a long-term Broncos deal.
"That's what players want. They want a bit of security and all that but at the moment all I was focused on was getting my option for next year," he said.

"I will see what happens. I will let my footy take care of it next year and we will work it out after."

In the meantime Turpin was looking forward to "building something" at Red Hill after the former glamour club collected their maiden wooden spoon last year.
He believed they were on course for a rise up the ladder after Brisbane snapped a four-game losing streak with a 26-18 victory over finals contenders Cronulla in their last clash that preceded last week's bye - only their fourth win of the year.
"Last year was a low but I want to be here at this club for the lows and the highs - I see us going to those highs soon," Turpin said.
"I can really see this club building. The result against the Sharks was a step in the right direction."
