NRL Fantasy Winners & Losers: Round 22

There were some great and terrible scores from key NRL Fantasy players in a mixed round 22 as injuries and suspensions continue to wreak havoc on trade-poor coaches over the closing rounds.

Winners

Manly's demolition of the Eels helped Reuben Garrick to not just the club record for most ever points in a season but also his first ever Fantasy century, with three tries and eight goals in his 106.

Tom Trbojevic (84) also racked up the stats in that game to be the best of the likely captaincy options from the weekend, although a knock to the jaw potentially has him in doubt for round 23.

Josh Curran (97) was brilliant in a win over Canterbury to record the second-top score of the round and presents a left-field candidate to replace the host of missing forwards including Angus Crichton, Jason Taumalolo and Corey Harawira-Naera.

Josh Jackson (81) is another candidate for that same role after getting through a mountain of work in that same game.

Get Caught Up: Round 22 must-see moments

The Bunnies' huge win over the Titans yielded big numbers for Latrell Mitchell (92) and Cody Walker (88) with Damien Cook (63) also producing solid numbers of late.

Adam Doueihi's (85) stellar run continued as he guided his side to a win over the Cowboys while the returning Nathan Cleary (74), Payne Haas (70) and James Tedesco (70) all proved solid non-Turbo captaincy picks.

Euan Aitken (66) averages 74 in three games as a back-rower, and there were relieving solid scores from Knights duo Jayden Brailey (54) and Connor Watson (51).

Losers

Corey Harawira-Naera (13) and Ryan Matterson (33) were each sent off for high tackles and will likely each miss the rest of the Fantasy season suspended.

Broncos halves and early-season cash cows Tyson Gamble (34) and Albert Kelly (46) could both miss some time injured while Gamble is set to be banned for two matches anyway.

Andrew McCullough (34) joined the Dragons' injured list with an ankle injury that likely ends his season and there are fears of a broken hand for Dogs playmaker Jake Averillo (34).

The Eels' huge loss to Manly was bad news for all of their players in Fantasy terms, particularly Clint Gutherson (21) and Mitch Moses (26) while even Isaiah Papali'i (46) was well below par.

David Fifita's (26) bench role is of significant concern, Jahrome Hughes (30) had a rare poor score before that late hit from CHN that has him in doubt for round 23 and Josh Schuster (35) was about the only Manly player that didn't get in on the spoils.
