Here is all you need to know about the Manly Sea Eagles' 2022 Telstra Premiership draw.

The Lowdown

Teams they play twice

Storm, Roosters, Eels, Knights, Titans, Sharks, Raiders, Wests Tigers, Bulldogs

Teams they play once

Panthers, Rabbitohs, Dragons, Warriors, Broncos, Cowboys

Day-by-day breakdown

Thursday 6; Friday 8; Saturday 7; Sunday 3.

Opening month

Manly start with two away games against Penrith and the Roosters (at Gosford) before home clashes with the Bulldogs and Raiders (in Mudgee). Manly will be doing well not to start 0-2 but given what they did last year from 0-4, it won't be the end of the world.

Best finishes: Leave it to DCE

Toughest stretch

Starting with Souths at Stadium Australia in round eight, and notwithstanding a home game against the Tigers a week after, Manly head into a tough run of three straight away games with Brisbane at Suncorp followed by the Eels at CommBank and Storm at AAMI Park.

Make it count

Following that, Manly are camped at 4Pines Park through the Origin period with four home games out of five coming against the Warriors, Cowboys, Storm and Knights. The only away game is a bus trip to face the Tigers at Campbelltown with the Storm likely the only match in that run where Manly will not start favourites.

The best of Tommy Turbo in 2021

Storyline to watch

When you fly as high as Tom Trbojevic did in 2021, the pressure to back it up is enormous. Manly will be happy if their champion fullback can come through the season unscathed and play more games than he did in 2021 but everyone else will be expecting another string of superhuman performances and match-winning moments to catapult Manly towards a title. Producing one season like Turbo did this year is tough enough but if he can do it again in 2022 then surely the Sea Eagles are right in the hunt.
