Four very talented young Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players had the chance to be inducted into the NRL competition at the annual Rookie Camp last Friday.
Sea Eagles Development Players Jamie Humphreys, Jacob Sykes and Gordon Chan Kum Tong were joined by rising forward Viliami Fifita for the Rookie Camp at Narrabeen last Friday.
Presented online this time due to the Covid restrictions, players were presented with a series of workshops covering topics such as
- Personal Brand
- Cultural Awareness
- Gambling
- Alcohol and Drugs
- Respect
- Sexual Consent
- Vilification
- Social Media
Sea Eagles Wellbeing and Education Manager Tim Gee facilitated the workshops along with Glenn Moore (Sea Eagles Careers Coach) to ensure the session was engaging and educational for the rookies.
“This group of rookies are a great bunch of young men who were attentive and interactive throughout each topic presented,’’ Gee said.
“They had some really good questions on certain topics which demonstrated not only that the presentations were thought provoking, but that the players were actively engaged in the learning.
“They all benefited from the education presented at the Rookie Camp, but each individual had their own take-aways that will assist them as their career progresses, and also in life outside football”
