Sharks playmaker Nicho Hynes.

Plenty of players that were good in round one struggled in round two and vice versa as a tough start to the year in NRL Fantasy continued.

Winners

Dragons halfback Ben Hunt (85) was player of the round for his huge effort in a losing cause against the Panthers.

Popular cut-price keeper Nicho Hynes (84) was the good Fantasy news story of the weekend, with a hugely busy game against Parramatta which included stats in almost every column.

Souths skipper Cam Murray (82) shrugged off a middling round one and a game-day move to the interchange to put in a huge stint against the Storm.

Dane Gagai (72) is the top-scoring player in Fantasy through two rounds after successive boomers for the Knights, ahead of Payne Haas (58) and Isaah Yeo (68).

Beau Fermor (69) came good in round two, as did James Tedesco (64), Matt Burton (62), Toby Sexton (61), Dylan Brown (59). Josh Curran (58) and Dale Finucane (57) have been consistent to start the year while Jake Clifford (54) shapes as a cut-price keeper. Harry Grant (58) and Tevita Pangai jnr (54) made strong starts after missing round one.

At the cheaper end, Max King (55) and Izack Tago (51) are looking close to must-have while Billy Walters (32) got enough time off the bench to keep his price moving and Chris Randall (45) had another decent score.

Try of the Week: Round 2

Losers

There was an unexpected plunge in the scores of Jeremiah Nanai (17, with a try and a whopping 28 demerits), Kelma Tuilagi (18) and Ethan Bullemor (20), who played just half an hour before being subbed for Andrew Davey.

Popular cheapies Lachlan Ilias (17), Talatau Amone (27), and Billy Smith (17) continue to struggle for points. James Schiller (5) was quiet and could be out of a spot with Jordan Rapana back this week while his teammate Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (6) also finished in single digits.

Stefano Utoikamanu's (27) status as a possible cut-price keeper is under review, although he was a whisker away from a try. Andrew Fifita (26) is scoring well while on field but doesn't look like he'll be getting more than half an hour of game time.

Brian To'o (17) will miss two months with a knee injury, Kurt Mann's (30) shift to lock isn't bringing any strong results Fantasy-wise, Xavier Coates got another try and an assist and still only notched 30,

And of course Tom Trbojevic's (24) former $1m price tag is in absolute freefall after another low score.
