The National Rugby League (NRL) announced today that Ampol State of Origin Two in Perth had officially sold out.
Following Queensland’s win in Game One of the series in Sydney, State of Origin’s first trip back to Optus Stadium since 2019 will be played in front of a full house.
With only single tickets remaining for Game Three in Brisbane, NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said supporters had responded in an extraordinary way to ensure capacity crowds across the series.
“We are thrilled to announce a sell-out in Perth for the second Ampol State of Origin match,” Mr Abdo said.
“The response from our supporters has confirmed Origin as the greatest rivalry in Australian sport, offering a unique experience for fans on and off the field.”
Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister Roger Cook added: “Western Australian fans and thousands of interstate visitors have embraced the drama and excitement of State of Origin yet again.
“There is nothing like Origin in Australian sport and a full house at Optus Stadium under lights is the best place in Australia to watch this epic battle.
“The partnership between the NRL and the Western Australian Government to bring Origin to Perth is another great success story as we send our message to the world that WA is open for tourism and open for business.”
Sunday’s match at Optus Stadium will feature ARIA-winning Australian rock band, Grinspoon, who will headline a pre-match line-up that also includes a spectacular light show.
