Bromwich brothers set to bring up 500

Storm forwards Jesse and Kenny Bromwich will make history on Friday night becoming the first pair of brothers to record 500 NRL matches for the one club.

It’s been quite the road for the pair from Manuwera, New Zealand who both made their way to Melbourne as youngsters before progressing through the Storm U20 system and into first-grade.

Jesse made his NRL debut back in Round 1, 2010 and didn’t have to wait long to taste the ultimate success playing a prominent role in Melbourne’s 2012 premiership triumph over the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

The following year Kenny made his breakthrough into Craig Bellamy’s first-grade line-up for what would be his NRL debut and the first of many matches alongside his older brother. Kenny’s debut in Round 5, 2013 not only went on to become a historic night for the Bromwich brothers but also for the Club.

499 games later, the Bromwich brothers have enjoyed success together on the big stage with high points coming in the form of the 2017 and 2020 Premierships as well as recording victory in the 2018 World Club Challenge over Leeds.

From burgeoning forwards to reliable leaders they have both become integral elements in the Storm machine.
