Defending champions Sydney Roosters and a revamped Newcastle Knights are the NRLW teams to beat in 2022 according to the game's biggest stars.

The Tricolours have lost seven of their premiership-winning players from last season but have a host of new signings including Titans pair Destiny Brill and Shaniah Power.

Meanwhile, the Knights have earned some tips amongst their opposition after an extensive recruitment drive in the off-season.

NRL.com asks our NRLW stars some big-hitting questions each week throughout the 2022 season.

Apart from yourselves, who is the team to beat in the 2022 NRL Telstra Women's Premiership and why?

Roosters captain Isabelle Kelly: It's hard to go past the Broncos. They are always the team to beat, they're just amazing and always on it. There's always a bit of rivalry between the Roosters and Broncos and we've got them in Round Two up there so that will be awesome.

Dragons five-eighth Taliah Fuimaono: I'd say the Roosters after what happened last season; we really want to get one back on them. They deserved the win in the end but we're so keen to play them again.

Titans prop Jessika Elliston: I think the Roosters still look strong but I'll go the Knights with Tamika Upton at the back and Millie Boyle up front. It's hard to ignore those signings. It will be interesting to see how that side mix and combine but I think when we come up against them they'll be tough.

Bundy Mixer is live now!

Eels co-captain Tiana Penitani:
The Knights look pretty stacked and that's exciting for the game so good on them. I think they'll be the team to beat and obviously very different from the last time we played them.

Knights co-captain Millie Boyle: I think the Roosters; they're coming off a win and are always going to be a team that will be hunted. Every season they've come good. Even if they don't get off to a strong start, they find their groove towards the end.

Titans halfback Lauren Brown: I'll go the Dragons. I feel like last season they were the team who probably deserved to win with how they played all season so I think they'll bring that same consistency in and be hard to beat again.

Roosters prop Sarah Togatuki: I'll go the Knights, I think they've got a really strong forward pack with Caitlan Johnston and Hannah Southwell. The combination they showed in Origin will be a massive boost and seeing some of the other players like Tayla Predebon and Simone Karpani, I wouldn't underestimate them.

Dragons forward Holli Wheeler: It’s hard to go past the Knights, just with the recruitment they’ve got. A lot of the players have played together at rep and club level so they’re going to have a lot of connection there.

Broncos prop Chelsea Lenarduzzi: The Roosters. They are the defending premiers so deserve to be the team to beat.

Titans centre Evania Pelite: I think the roster the Knights have put together makes them a big threat for us. They've signed a lot of good players.

Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw: I don’t look past any other team. I focus on who we play in Round 1 and once that’s done I focus on Round 2. I couldn’t even tell you who we’re playing after that.

Knights five-eighth Kirra Dibb: I can't decide because every side will bring different strengths and weaknesses that another side doesn't have. I'm going to have to sit on the fence and just say all of them.

Dragons captain Kezie Apps: It's really hard to choose. I thought the Titans found their straps at the end of last season, the Roosters obviously won it and the Knights have a great line-up. The Broncos are always competitive and I think Parramatta is also one to be wary of. I honestly can't answer but do know the teams will only get better as the season goes on so stay tuned!
