They've got the toughest jobs in the game but more often than not end up on the highlight reels for all the right reasons with bone-rattling tackles.

Every NRLW side has an enforcer according to their opponents with Knights star Caitlan Johnston, Dragons forward Elsie Albert and Titans veteran Rona Peters among those earning worthy mentions.

NRL.com asks our NRLW stars some big-hitting questions each week throughout the 2022 season.

Which NRLW player do you try and avoid in the defensive line?

Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw: I love the tackle technique of Hannah Southwell. There’s none better in the game.

Titans halfback Lauren Brown: Definitely Elsie Albert. Last season I went to tackle her and she picked me up and dumped me on my back. I made a goal to not make a highlights reel getting bumped off by Elsie again but it's happened twice now.

Eels co-captain Tiana Penitani: Easily Hannah Southwell, she'll fold you in half. I'm always looking at her thinking I don't have a choice but to run straight at you right now. She's the only player who's ever winded me in a tackle. Very good tackle technique.

NRLW question time: Who will have a breakout season?

Knights five-eighth Kirra Dibb: I don't ever want to run at Caitlan Johnston, I'm so glad we're in the same colours. She hits hard and is ruthless in defence. She'll do anything for the jersey she is wearing and that's someone you want on your team.

Titans centre Evania Pelite: I've seen them belt people so I don't want to go near them - Simaima Taufa and Hannah Southwell. I don't want to be on their highlight reels any time soon.

Roosters prop Sarah Togatuki: Oh my gosh... Elsie Albert. I've run at her a couple of times and she sends me to another planet. I have to act tough and get up to play the ball but there's a reason I play with her in the Harvey Norman NSW Premiership. She's just a beast.

Titans captain Brittany Breayley-Nati: I think little Destiny Brill who has made her way to the Roosters. The way she gets low and lifts people and hurts people in the tackle, so not really looking forward to getting crushed by her. I’ll definitely be avoiding her.

Dragons captain Kezie Apps: I avoid Sarah Togatuki at all costs. She's like a brick wall.

Roosters captain Isabelle Kelly: Probably Caitlan Johnston. She's known for her hits and carries. Playing against her and the other girls at the Knights will be awesome especially because we're all good friends.

Titans forward Jess Elliston: I have a few. Simaima Taufa whacked me and I don't want to go near her again. When I've played against Rona Peters she'd tackle me and I pee just about every time, especially when she gets you good in the guts.

NRLW question time: Who will have the biggest impact?

Dragons five-eighth Taliah Fuimaono: Either Caitlan Johnston, she's pretty aggressive, or Filomina Hanisi at the Eels, she can whack you pretty good.

Knights prop Millie Boyle: I'd usually say Hannah Southwell but she's on my team now. I just try and run at the smallest person I can see.

Dragons forward Holli Wheeler: There are so many quality players but I guess for me in the middle if I’m running I’m trying to avoid Hannah Southwell. She’ll pick me up and put me on my backside.

Broncos forward Chelsea Lenarduzzi: Let's just say I'm definitely glad Amber Hall plays for the Broncs because coming up against her in the Kiwi Ferns previously hasn't been fun.
