The National Rugby League (NRL) today announced that six-time ARIA-winning Australian rock band, The Living End, will headline the pre-match entertainment at Ampol State of Origin Game One, which takes place on Wednesday 31 May at Adelaide Oval.

The band, best known for hits including Prisoner of Society and White Noise, will help turn up the volume as sport’s greatest rivalry returns to South Australia for the first time since 2020.

After the Queensland Maroons sealed a stunning last-minute win over the New South Wales Blues in last year’s sold-out series, anticipation is building ahead of one of the most evenly balanced State of Origin matchups in years.

Tickets for Adelaide’s blockbuster opening game are available from $59 for adults via NRL.com/tickets and a range of Corporate Hospitality packages to truly elevate the Origin experience is available at NRL.com/hospitality.

Chris Cheney, lead singer and guitarist of The Living End, said, “Holy smokes this is an awesome thing, we’re pumped to be playing State of Origin! Turn up your TV folks because footy and rock’n’roll music is a mighty pairing. We can’t wait!”

Additional entertainment for fans in and around the Adelaide Oval will include a range of precinct experiences, a spectacular pre-match light show, the traditional Welcome to Country, and the Ampol ‘Mini Origin’ match at half time, featuring local junior players.
