Mitch Rein retires from NRL

Mitch Rein has announced his retirement from rugby league.

With 209 NRL games to his name, Mitch has made an enormous contribution to the game in a demanding position at hooker. Mitch made his NRL debut with the Dragons in 2011, and played for Panthers and Titans before joining the Eels in 2022.

“I feel privileged to have played rugby league professionally, and I’m grateful for the opportunities that have come with it,” said Mitch.

“I would like to thank all of the players, coaches and support staff who I have worked with, and I’d like to acknowledge all the fans and members who have supported me.”

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said, “Playing over 200 games in the NRL is a massive achievement. On top of that Mitch managed to complete a university degree and set himself up nicely for a career after football. We wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

Off the field, Mitch has graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Real Estate & Property Development.
