Daly Cherry-Evans to join 300 club

The National Rugby League (NRL) has congratulated Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Captain Daly Cherry-Evans on reaching the 300-game milestone.

Cherry-Evans will this evening become the 49th player to play 300 matches when he takes on St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium – and the 19th player in the game’s history to play 300 games for one Club.

Australian Rugby League Commissioner Wayne Pearce OAM will present Cherry-Evans with the traditional 300-game match ball following the match.

“Daly has played every one of his 299 games as a starting halfback,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said. “That is an amazing achievement and speaks to Daly’s extraordinary skill and durability.

“He will become the first player in history to reach 300 games starting in the same position.

“Having captained his Club and State, Daly is a leader on and off the field. On behalf of the rugby league community, I congratulate Daly on achieving this significant milestone.”
