Cronulla have surged up the NRL's Power Rankings after a commanding 26-16 victory over the Rabbitohs put their 2023 finals campaign back on track.

Snapping a three-game losing streak on the back of an attacking masterclass from new halves pairing Braydon Trindall and Nicho Hynes, the morale-boosting victory not only kept the Sharks' top four hopes alive but has them sitting five spots higher at sixth in this week's rankings.

The other big movers heading into Round 24 are the Roosters, who climbed six places into eight on the back of an impressive 26-16 victory over the Sea Eagles to keep their finals hopes alive.

Meanwhile, another clinical performance over the Storm at home has Penrith sitting pretty in top spot for a fifth-straight week, with a 15-5 record heading into their Round 24 clash with Manly.

In stark contrast, Melbourne dropped two places into fifth position after continuing their worrying win-lose-win-lose pattern with a disappointing performance at BlueBet Stadium.

The Storm now face the Raiders, who they sit two places ahead in the rankings and one place on the ladder, in what shapes as a dogfight for a top four position.

The Rabbitohs also took a hit in Roud 23, dropping three places into ninth position in the rankings after being on the wrong end of a Round 23 upset against the Sharks.
