Jasmin Strange feels a deep connection to England after her father and coach, John, and English mother, Adele, met while he was playing for York.

The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce that John Strange has extended his contract as NRLW Head Coach until the end of the 2027 season.

This announcement follows Strange’s successful debut as Head Coach of the NSW Blues in Game 1 of this year’s Women’s State of Origin campaign, contested last week.

Since taking the helm in 2021, Strange has been instrumental in the Roosters' success, guiding the team to two Premierships (2021 and 2024) and fostering a strong team culture, with his leadership also playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of the Roosters’ female pathways program.

“I’m really proud to hold this position with the Sydney Roosters and I’m excited to extend my time with the Club,” said Strange.

“There’s such a strong culture at the Roosters and it’s been terrific to be part of the development of the players we’ve had here over the years, so I’m looking forward to continuing to play my role,” he added.

Roosters Director of Football, Mitchell Aubusson, was pleased to have secured Strange through to the end of 2027.

“John’s commitment and passion for developing our NRLW program and players is exceptional. Our female pathways is growing stronger every year, and John’s vision aligns perfectly with the Club’s goals, so it’s great to have locked him in to lead the team for the next few years as we build towards sustained success,” said Aubusson.

Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly, added: “John’s impact on our NRLW program has been significant, and we’re delighted to have him secured through to the end of 2027. The professionalism and care he brings to the role is exactly what we want at the Roosters, and we look forward to what lies ahead under his guidance.”
