Dragons: Former NSW and Jillaroos star Maddie Studdon is set for a shock recall as St George Illawarra navigate a torrid injury toll. The veteran has been playing for the Steelers in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership and will line up at five-eighth for her first NRLW game since 2023. Kasey Reh has been named to make her return from a concussion at halfback. Raecene McGregor will miss the clash due to suspension, while Margot Vella has been ruled out with a knee injury. Maria Paseka has been named on the wing in her place. Nita Maynard-Perrin (knee), Alice Gregory (finger) and Trinity Tauaneai (shoulder) have also been ruled out, with Zali Hopkins to start at hooker and Bronte Wilson to line up at prop. NSW Under 19s representative Tori Shipton has been named to make her debut off the bench.
Sharks: Cronulla are also battling an overflowing casualty ward, with Grace-Lee Weekes named at centre in place of skipper Tiana Penitani Gray (head knock). Annessa Biddle returns to the centres and is set to battle through a shoulder injury. Brooke Anderson is also back from a head knock and will line up at lock, with Stephanie Faulkner returning from a concussion via the interchange. Emma Verran has been named in the reserves and is a chance of returning from a foot injury, however Jada Taylor's comeback from an ACL tear has been put on hold for at least a week.
