Brisbane Broncos superstar Tamika Upton has become the first woman to win two Dally M Medals after claiming the award on Wednesday night.

The fullback finished on top with 35 points, three points clear of Broncos team-mate Julia Robinson on 32 points, with Knights halfback Jesse Southwell third with 31 points and Roosters skipper Isabelle Kelly just behind on 29 points.

Upton previously won the medal in 2023 before leading the Knights to grand final glory just a couple of days later.

Broncos fans will be hoping history repeats itself this year with the fullback chasing her fifth NRLW premiership when Brisbane face the undefeated Roosters in Sunday's decider at Accor Stadium.

Remarkably, Upton sat seventh when voting went behind closed doors after Round 5, 12 points behind leader Isabelle Kelly.

The 28-year-old produced a spectacular campaign in her return to Brisbane, finishing the regular season with 18 tries, 14 try assists and 18 linebreaks.

Tamika Upton's Dally M hype reel

Upton, who moved back home this year from Newcastle, said she was "grateful for that club" and "grateful for all the team-mates and the friendships" she made there, but was happy to be back home.

"(I was) fortunate enough to be able to come back home, was welcomed with open arms by my team-mates, more importantly, the club," Upton said after collecting her award.

"I've absolutely loved my time off the field and I think that always shows on the field, when you're happy, you're playing your best footy.

"Love all my team-mates, I can't wait to see my friends and family, and, more importantly, can't wait to get there on Sunday."
