Queensland Rugby League has confirmed the men’s Under 19 Emerging squad, with players set to come together for the first time this Sunday in Brisbane.
The education session forms a key part of the Queensland Under 19 Origin pathway, supporting young players as they progress toward professional rugby league and, for some, a potential future representing Queensland at the highest level.
The squad features a strong cross-section of talent drawn from Queensland’s statewide junior representative clubs and NRL development pathways.
Throughout the day, players will take part in sessions focused on high-performance preparation, professionalism and personal development.
The program is designed to give players a clear understanding of the demands of elite rugby league, along with the responsibility that comes with wearing the Queensland jersey.
The emerging squad will be led by head coach Darius Boyd and supported by assistant coaches Jesse Maclean and Andrew McCullough.
“There are a lot of talented young Queenslanders coming through the pathways, which is evident both from the success of last year’s campaign and the strength of the emerging squad named for this weekend,” Boyd said.
“I’m looking forward to working with this group of young men and help them further their development both on and off the field.”
