Harvey Norman All Stars 2026: Indigenous Women fight back to snatch win

NRL Harvey Norman All Stars returns to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2026 with a celebration of culture and two magnificent games of footy at FMG Stadium in Waikato.

In the women's clash, the Indigenous All Stars are chasing a three-peat after winning in Sydney last year and Townsville in 2024.

The Māori All Stars men are looking to defend the crown after a tense 10-6 victory over the Indigenous All Stars last year.

Women's All Stars - Maori All Stars v Indigenous All Stars

Fulltime: The Indigenous All Stars came from behind to score four unanswered second half tries and snatch victory over the Māori Wahine. Trailing 14-0 at halftime, the Indigenous team turned to speed out wide and the kicking game of Kirra Dibb to change momentum. Outside backs Phoenix-Raine Hippi, Caitlin Turnbull and Krystal Blackwell and Jada Taylor scored tries to wrestle back the lead from the Māori team before a crowd of 12,441. It was the third successive win by the Indigenous All Stars over the Māori Wahine.

59 min: Jada Taylor scored a brilliant 70m try, beating Parker and wrongfooting Gayle Broughton to secure victory for the Indigenous All Stars after a long pass from Blackwell created space for the Sharks fullback. Indigenous 20 Māori 14.

57 min: The Indigenous All Stars have won a crucial captain's challenge after a kick by Fuimaono was ruled to be out on the full, but the decision was overturned on review. 

47 min: New Raiders recruit Krystal Blackwell put the Indigenous team ahead for the first time in the match after backing up a break by Hippi to finish a long range try started by Fuimaono. Dibb converted. Indigenous 16 Māori 14.

45 min: With the wind at their backs in the second half the Indigenous team have dominated the third quarter and will be looking to continue the momentum in the last 15 minutes. 

42 min: Hippi has continued her topsy-turvey game after putting down a flat, hard kick from Raecene McGregor to give the Māori a chance before the next break.

35 min: Caitlin Turnbull made it back-to-back tries for the Indigenous team after racing through to catch a kick from Kirra Dibb on the full and score. Dibb converted. Māori 14-10.

33 min: The Indigenous team needed to score first in the second half and they did through Titans winger Phoenix-Raine Hippi, who bumped off Shanice Parker to score after a long pass from Taliah Fuimaono to score. Māori 14-4.

Halftime: The Māori team go to halftime leading 14-0 after a double by Willison, playing in her home city, and a try to prop Rima Butler. The Indigenous team are their own worst enemies, committing three errors and conceding two penalties in the opening 30 minutes.

23 min: Willison scored her second try after stepping inside Indigenous centre Jasmine Peters to score after a long cut out pass from Temera, who again missed the conversion from out wide. Māori 14-0.

With the All Stars matches played in quarters, the first break is now taking place.

12 min: Knights winger Tenika Willison extended the lead for the Māori after quick hands from centre Corban Baxter created space for the Olympic gold medallist on the left edge. Temara missed the conversion from out wide. Māori 10.0.

7 min: The Māori team went length of the field in the ensuing set and Roosters and Jillaroos prop Rima Butler charged over to open the scoring. Zahara Temara converted from near the posts. Māori 6-0.

5 min: New Eels recruit Keilee Joseph appeared to have scored the first try for the Indigenous team but was unable to ground the ball. 

1min: We are underway with the Indigenous teams kicking off.

The rain has cleared and the teams are about to enter the field for their pre-match cultural performances. The Māori Wahine are co-captained by Kennedy Cherrington and Zahara Temara. The Indigenous co-captains are Quincy Dodd and Tallisha Harden, who will play a record ninth All Stars match.
