From Alex Johnston's record-breaking heroics at Allianz Stadium to the razzle dazzle Wests Tigers turning it on at Leichhardt Oval, Round 2 of the NRL Telstra Premiership delivered a host of unforgettable moments for viewers live and at home.
On the back of a slashing start in Las Vegas with two matches that were watched by 2.1 million viewers, an increase of 7% on last year's event, the NRL delivered again in Round 2 with viewership up 15% on last year.
Huge crowds were on hand for the Broncos-Eels (39,015) and Roosters-Rabbitohs (41,424) matches while Leichhardt Oval (17,367) was packed to the rafters for the Jarome Luai Show as fans flock to see the game live and tune in on TV.
Numbers across the first two rounds of the NRL season show:
- Attendance outside of Las Vegas in 2026 shows 72,000 more people have attended NRL games up to Round 2 compared to same period 2025.
- Average attendance outside of Vegas in Rounds 1-2 has increased from 17,325 to 22,489 (+30%) and increased total crowds by 25% year on year.
- Total viewers for Round 2 up 15.4%.
- Average minutes viewed per total viewer up from 64.6 minutes to 66.8.
- Average audience increases byproduct of 5.6% more viewers, watching 3.4% more game time.
