Wests Tigers have moved to second on the ladder with a pulsating 22-20 win over the Eels in an Easter Monday classic at CommBank Stadium.

After Mitch Moses and Jock Madden nailed late penalty goals to send the game to golden point it was Madden who stood tall in the 85th minute after Dylan Walker had been penalised for being offside as he tried to pressure a field goal shot.

Terrell May, Alex Twal and Kai Pearce-Paul were immense for the Tigers in the forwards while Jahream Bula, Heamasi Makasini and Luke Laulilii ran for big metres as the Tigers took their golden point record to seven wins and 15 losses in 22 attempts.

The Eels were hit hard by injury with Bailey Simonsson, Jonah Pezet and Sean Russell all failing to finish the match with Simonsson's injury bringing debutant Apa Twidle onto the field for his NRL debut.

Twidle scored with his first touch of the ball and completed a stunning double just minutes later as he enjoyed a memorable debut in front of the Eels faithful.
