Queensland Rugby League Chief Executive Officer Ben Ikin will step down from his role at the end of July, concluding his tenure with the organisation.
Ben has accepted a role in another industry, marking the next chapter in his professional career.
During his time as QRL CEO, Ben has led a range of key strategic initiatives, strengthening the game across Queensland and advancing the organisation’s long-term priorities. He has positioned the QRL as a leading sporting organisation in the State.
The QRL Board thanks Ben for his leadership, commitment and contribution to the QRL, and rugby league in general, and wishes him and his family every success in the future.
“Ben’s leadership has placed the QRL in a very strong position in the sporting landscape and our on-going strategies and programs are well advanced,” QRL Chair Brian Canavan said today.
Ben will remain actively involved with the Maroons Foundation, something he is deeply passionate about.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the QRL,” Ikin said.
“I’ve met so many great people and created some incredible memories, I leave feeling very grateful.”
