Rugby League World Cup 2026 is set to be the most entertaining yet if the eight wingers nominated for the RLWC2026 Team of the Week can maintain their strike rates.
Led by record breaking wingers Greg Marzhew (Samoa), whose five tries equalled Newcastle's record for the most in a match, and South Sydney's Alex Johnston (PNG), who has now scored the most hat-tricks in Australian premiership history (17), the eight nominees crossed for a combined 21 tries.
Kiwis winger Jamayne Isaako and England's Dom Young also scored hat-tricks for the Dolphins and Knights respectively, while their countrymen Will Warbrick (New Zealand and Storm) and Joe Burgess (England and Hull KR) scored doubles, as did 2025 Kangaroo tourist Josh Addo-Carr (Eels).
Jamayne Isaako was in everything!
Tonga's Daniel Tupou surpassed Billy Slater as the third highest tryscorer in Australian premiership history, behind Johnston (224) and Ken Irvine (212), when he crossed for his 191st try for Sydney Roosters.
Roosters team-mates James Tedesco (Australia) and Rob Toia (Tonga) each scored braces, along with English halfback sensation Jack Farrimond (Wigan).
In total, the 60 players nominated for the RLWC2026 Team of the Week scored 42 tries and 225 points, including 32 goals and Mitchell Moses extra time field goal for the Eels.
Marzhew is one of five players from the most recent RLWC2026 Team of the Week nominated, along with Knights team-mates Kalyn Ponga and Dylan Brown, who are both hoping to play for New Zealand, Kangaroos halfback Nathan Cleary and Tonga secondrower Haumole Olakau'atu.

Each week, fans vote for their RLWC2026 Team of the Week from players nominated after the previous weekend's NRL and Super League matches, who are eligible for the 10 nations contesting Rugby League World Cup 2026.
The RLWC2026 Team of the Week is announced each Wednesday.
The latest World Cup Team of the Week nominations after Round 10 of the NRL features nine Kiwis, eight England players and seven Samoa and Tonga internationals apiece, as well as players eligible for Australia, Fiji, France, Lebanon and Papua New Guinea.
